If you have asked me “What we can do to make our Earth a better place to live”; I would have had a confusing mind and some complicated answers until I met this old man whose name is still behind the mystic clouds. But since my meeting with him I have only one answer to this eternal question and it is SMILE. Not just smile, but smile yourself and spread it the ones around you.

               It was a very warm day, probably a day when god forget to turn off his heater after the winter. I was working in a fuel station as a console operator. It was a lame day; I suppose the extreme heat made the people stay inside. Fortunately, I was at the comforts of Air conditioning (a finding by which man-made Earth a better place to live). A white limousine came in to refill around 2 in the afternoon. An old man in driver’s fittings walked in to pay for the fuel. As usual, I asked him “How are you?” “Am good thank you, what about you”. Just for a change or rather to exhibit my vocabulary bank I said: “Same old same” with a smile on my face. But the man was not convinced by my reply. He asked me “If it’s a ‘same old same’ with some agony still you have that smile on your face”. I was like “What??” He continued, ”there are plenty a million who doesn’t even know what smile is, so be happy and say it’s a good day because you were smiling and people were smiling with you all around the day.”

His words followed me till my home and went well inside me when I had a shower. It was an instant when I realised few facts and I got those answers for few twisted questions. “Why do we love our childhood so much”? “Why do I love my work even though it’s tiring”? “Why do we love to spent time with our dear ones”? My thoughts were chasing an answer and the only thing that highlighted at all these places was SMILES. Even in the middle of stressful hot humid days, we live forward to earn that smile at the weekend. Just imagine how good a day will be when the people walking across you give a heart filling smile to you. I can underline this statement by the help of Mr William Arthur Ward and his statement “A warm smile is the universal language of kindness”. If you don’t mind sir, I would like to add a ‘caring’ word to this quote of yours to make it. “A warm smile is the universal language of caring and kindness”.

Every love in this world kicked off with that little curve on her face; may be his. Every ceremony started with greetings garnished in SMILE”. So my humble request is to think if this special smile is brought into every day of your, it can do wonders. Mentally it makes you happy and more energetic. And physically it does a lot more. For a quick run through it makes us relaxed and boosts our immune system and it uses 5 – 53 facial muscles, a better work out which is free and absolutely not available in any of the gyms around you. This part for the ladies as some scientists believe a smiley face attracts more men than a well made up one. Above all smile is contagious a frowning man can be made to smile just by a warm smile at him. So when it can do all these why to preserve the smile for the future generations as if it gets extinct. Just spread the smile and make our Earth the best place to live.

“We all started with a cry and wish to finish with a smile” hope no one said this before me at least in public. I wanted to push this inside my article but couldn’t find a place it will fit. So I was worried a quote of mine going into the trash without even getting a place in my own article. So I pushed it at the end for a self-satisfaction. I hope this last paragraph made you smile.
